API Pond Chlorine & Heavy Metals Neutralizer is a water conditioner for ornamental ponds when filling, topping up or replacing water from a treated municipal supply. Chlorine and chloramine used in tap-water treatment can damage fish gills, so incoming water should be conditioned before fish are exposed.

When to use it

  • Before introducing tap water to a koi or goldfish pond.
  • During partial water changes or significant top-ups.
  • When setting up a new ornamental pond using municipal water.

Important distinction

This is a dechlorinating water treatment, not an algae remover, biological filter starter or cure for ammonia or nitrite problems. Test water parameters independently.

Dosage and safety

Choose the 473 ml or 946 ml bottle and calculate the dose using the manufacturer's current label for your actual water volume. Follow all label precautions; do not guess a dose from pond surface area alone.
