The Blue Eye Lemon Ancistrus brings one of the cleanest colour combinations in the bristlenose world: a bright lemon-to-cream body set against darker blue-toned eyes. In a planted aquarium the fish almost glows against dark wood, while still keeping the compact body shape that makes Ancistrus so practical for community tanks.

Unlike large Common Plecos, this fish stays manageable and works well in aquariums where space matters. It still needs proper food, driftwood and shelter, but it gives you the classic bristlenose behaviour without the huge adult footprint.

Care & keeping

Species:Ancistrus sp.
Current size: 3–4 cm
Adult size: approximately 10–13 cm
Temperature: 22–28°C
pH: 5.5–7.5
Difficulty: Easy

Provide driftwood, caves and good filtration. Feed algae wafers, vegetables, biofilm and varied sinking foods. A mature aquarium with natural grazing surfaces will help keep the fish in excellent condition.

Temperament & compatibility

Peaceful with most community fish. Adult males can defend caves, so provide more than one shelter when keeping multiple Ancistrus.

Best for: planted and community aquariums where you want a bright, compact bristlenose with standout colour.
