Hikari Cichlid Gold Mini 250 g is a floating mini-pellet diet for small-mouthed cichlids and growing cichlids that benefit from a colour-focused prepared food. Its mini pellet size is easier to take than medium or large cichlid pellets, while floating food lets you observe feeding at the surface.
Which cichlids is it for?
Suitable for appropriately sized omnivorous cichlids, including many community and Central or South American cichlids that accept floating pellets. It is not a universal diet for every cichlid: strongly herbivorous African mbuna, for example, generally need a more vegetable-focused formula such as Hikari Cichlid Excel.
Why choose Cichlid Gold Mini?
- Colour-focused formula: developed to support the fish's natural colour expression.
- Mini floating pellets: suitable for smaller mouths and easy to monitor during feeding.
- Controlled portions: allows keepers to spot shy fish, dominant fish and changes in appetite.
- Species-aware choice: offers an alternative to vegetable-focused cichlid diets for fish with different feeding habits.
Feeding guidance
Feed small amounts once or twice daily, offering only what fish eat promptly. If dominant cichlids monopolise the surface, spread pellets across several areas. Remove leftovers and adjust feeding to species, size, activity and water temperature.
