Kuhli Loach

The Kuhli Loach (Pangio kuhlii) is a fascinating and peaceful bottom-dwelling fish loved for its eel-like body, playful behaviour, and striking banded pattern. With its distinctive black and golden-yellow stripes, the Kuhli Loach adds both character and activity to community aquariums. These social fish are most comfortable when kept in groups, where their natural behaviours can be fully observed.

Known for their gentle temperament, Kuhli Loaches spend their days exploring the substrate, weaving through plants, driftwood, and decorations in search of food. They are excellent additions to planted aquariums and thrive in tanks with soft substrates, plenty of hiding places, and peaceful tank mates. While often shy during the day, they become more active during the evening and feeding times.

Kuhli Loaches are omnivorous scavengers that readily accept sinking pellets, wafers, frozen foods, bloodworms, and other quality aquarium foods. Their unique appearance and entertaining behaviour make them a favourite among aquarists of all experience levels.
