SHIPPING & RETURNS
Orders are shipped throughout South Africa using trusted courier partners. Delivery timing and eligibility vary by product. Livestock orders use designated shipping days and are subject to live-arrival conditions; dry goods and equipment follow the standard returns policy.
LIVESTOCK DOA
For livestock orders only: if livestock arrives deceased (DOA), submit the claim within 2 hours of delivery with clear photographs of the unopened bag, clear photographs of the livestock inside the bag, and your order number.
Approved DOA claims may receive a replacement or store credit at Glass & Gill’s discretion, subject to the policy terms. Non-livestock returns are handled under the standard returns policy.
Yellow Comet Goldfish (Carassius auratus) are active, single-tailed goldfish suited to spacious, well-filtered coldwater aquariums and established outdoor ponds. Yellow to golden body colour with translucent yellow fins and a forked single tail.
At a glance
- Size supplied: 4–5 cm (approximate; individual fish vary)
- Adult size: commonly 20–30 cm, sometimes larger with excellent care
- Lifespan: often 10–15+ years with appropriate husbandry
- Temperament: generally peaceful, active and social
- Water: cool, clean, well-oxygenated freshwater; avoid sustained tropical temperatures
- Diet: quality goldfish pellets, supplemented with suitable vegetable matter
- Suitable companions: similarly sized, peaceful single-tailed goldfish; avoid small fish that may be eaten and delicate fancy goldfish that may be outcompeted
Space and long-term care
These are not small-bowl fish. Comets grow quickly and produce substantial waste. Plan for a large mature aquarium or pond with powerful biological filtration, regular partial water changes, and generous open swimming space. They are best kept with compatible goldfish rather than tropical community fish.
