Pictus Catfish are peaceful, social fish that do best when kept in groups and provided with plenty of swimming space. They are most active during the evening and nighttime but remain visible throughout the day in well-maintained aquariums. These catfish enjoy aquariums with driftwood, rocks, caves, and open areas where they can explore and forage.

As omnivores, Pictus Catfish readily accept a wide variety of foods including sinking pellets, frozen foods, bloodworms, brine shrimp, and high-quality prepared diets. Their hardy nature and fascinating behaviour make them popular among both intermediate and experienced aquarists.
